Many believe that our local public schools are failing us. That's no surprise -- there are many businesses that disappoint their customers. The frustration is that only the wealthiest families have the resources to both support their local school through taxes and pay for private school. Greater competition, with some schools succeeding and other schools failing, should ultimately lead to a better "product". Parents want choice -- students want choice -- who doesn't want choice? Regulations should be adjusted to encourage the establishment of charter schools, and vouchers and/or a tax credits should be available to those parents who wish to send their children to private school.
